Antonis Ioannou Konis

Antonis Konis was born in Eptakomi on 11/5/36. He went to the village primary school and then to the American Academy in Larnaca from where he left to study in England. There he qualified as an English teacher.
In 1954 he married Giannoulla Kyriakou Zaharia, they had three children. He had the Cooperative Supermarket in the village until the Turkish invasion.
The village was taken over by armed Turkish fellow villagers and Turks from Galateia on 15 August. Around midday they gathered all the villagers in the church and separated the men

from 16 to 60 at 5.30 p.m. they put them into cars and took them to Galateia where they were taken to the café together with villagers from the neighbouring village Komi Kebir.
The village mayor and Antonis Konis were interrogated and have not been seen again to this day.
